Lorenzo Tugnoli's Palestinian photographs on show in Bagnacavallo

The exhibition 'fa che sia un racconto' opens at the former convent of San Francesco in Bagnacavallo, near Ravenna, featuring 40 large-format unpublished photographs by Lorenzo Tugnoli, the only Italian Pulitzer Prize winner (2019). The images document the Israeli aggression against Palestine and Lebanon, collected from October 2023. Curated by Francesca Recchia, the show is organized with the Istituto storico della resistenza e dell'età contemporanea della provincia di Ravenna and coincides with the 80th anniversary of the Liberation from Nazi-fascism. The exhibition layout is by architect and designer Diego Segatto. The title quotes Palestinian poet Refaat Alareer, killed by an Israeli targeted bombing on December 6, 2023, in Gaza. The show aims to provide factual evidence and counter media manipulation, presenting a silent, meditative path through documentation, evidence, testimony, and the concept of Sumud (resistance). Recchia emphasizes the right to information, solidarity, memory, and resistance, criticizing mainstream media for delegitimizing local voices. Tugnoli's work focuses on the dignity of victims without gratuitous violence.
