Lorenzo Taliani's First Solo Show 'Marisa' Explores the Female Gaze in Florence

Lorenzo Taliani (born 1983 in Florence) presents his first solo exhibition, 'Marisa,' at Etra Studio Tommasi in Florence, running until October 17, 2023. The show features 30 large-format black-and-white photographs that focus on the female gaze, with subjects looking directly at the camera, creating strong connections and soft contrasts of light and shadow. Taliani, who previously worked in fashion photography until 2020, shifted his focus during the pandemic to study the female universe. He expresses gratitude to Francesca Tommasi for the opportunity and notes that the historic venue, once the studio of Benvenuto Cellini where he created 'Perseus,' adds a magical quality to the work. The exhibition combines his photographs with the studio's existing plasters, artworks, sculptures, and garden.
