Lorenzo Senni's Sound Installation for Bergamo Hospital ICU

Lorenzo Senni has created a permanent sound installation titled 'Canone Infinito' for the intensive care unit of the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, inaugurated on November 20, 2018. The project is a collaboration between The Blank, a cultural network founded in 2010, and the hospital, one of Italy's largest and most technologically advanced, active since December 2012. The audio track, composed by Senni, plays intermittently in the ICU corridors, providing a delicate soundscape for staff, patients, and visitors. Senni, known for his multidisciplinary work, previously addressed illness and hospitalization in the soundtrack for Yuri Ancarani's video 'Da Vinci,' presented at the 2013 Venice Biennale. The initiative is supported by Fondazione Credito Bergamasco, Associazione 'Amici della Pediatria' Onlus, and the Santo Radici family. The hospital has a history of integrating contemporary art, including a 2014 art project for its new church involving artists Andrea Mastrovito, Stefano Arienti, and the Ferrario Freres group. The work was curated by Claudia Santeroni and Stefano Raimondi of The Blank Contemporary Art.
