Lorenzo Bruni Appointed Director of The Others Fair in Turin
Lorenzo Bruni has been named the new director of The Others Fair in Turin, replacing Bruno Barsanti, who stepped down after three years to focus on a new project called Combo. Barsanti will oversee visual arts development for Combo, a series of historic buildings combining hospitality and cultural production across Turin, Milan, Venice, and Rome. The leadership change occurred between Christmas and New Year, with unanimous support from the fair's partners due to Bruni's international profile. Bruni, a Florentine critic and independent curator, has coordinated the non-profit space BASE / Progetti per l’arte in Florence since 2000 and taught aesthetics of new media at various art academies. His international experience includes roles at Karst art center in Plymouth, KCCC in Klaipėda (Lithuania), HISK in Ghent (Belgium), and Musée d'art moderne de Saint-Étienne Métropole (France). He recently consulted for Museo Pecci in Prato and worked on projects at Museo 900 in Florence, Museo MAGA in Gallarate, and a collateral project for Manifesta12 in Palermo. Roberto Casiraghi, founder of The Others, emphasized continuity with new developments, while Bruni plans to strengthen the fair's curatorial board and its role as an open discussion platform engaging gallerists, curators, artists, critics, collectors, and institutions.
