Lorenzo Agius and Izzy Weissgerber Debut Collaboration at Gallery Weekend Berlin

For Gallery Weekend Berlin, photographer Lorenzo Agius and painter Izzy Weissgerber present their first collaboration at St. Elisabeth-Kirche. The exhibition features 18 works that transform celebrity portraits into modern icons, combining Agius's photography with Weissgerber's vibrant, pop-infused style. The duo met via Instagram after Agius discovered Weissgerber's work online. Weissgerber, who has synesthesia, uses color intuitively, often incorporating pastels and 24-karat gold. Agius relinquished control over his images, allowing Weissgerber to reinterpret them. Notable works include a portrait of Ewan McGregor from Trainspotting, taken 30 years ago, and a piece featuring Keith Richards, which initially was not intended for the show but became a favorite. The collaboration emphasizes energy, spontaneity, and the fusion of two artistic visions.
