Lorena Bucur and Davide Viggiano Challenge Natural vs Artificial in Pesaro

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Spazio Torrso in Pesaro presents a group exhibition featuring artists Lorena Bucur (b. 1996, Cremona) and Davide Viggiano (b. 1994, Potenza), who explore the boundary between natural and artificial through unconventional materials and techniques. Bucur's series 'Postcard bricks' uses cement slabs in postcard format as supports for photographic representations of natural elements, employing a custom cement printing method. Viggiano's 'Insediamenti' collects organic materials—rainwater, fine dust, soil, moss—and transforms them into bioplastic via glycerin addition. Despite artificial processes, the works appear more natural than artificial, occupying an ambiguous middle ground. The exhibition interrogates the perceived opposition of these terms, creating a new hybrid imaginary. Curated by Chiara Battaglino, the show runs at Spazio Torrso in Pesaro.
