LOOP Fair 2023: Barcelona's Video Art Hub Returns with Festival

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The 21st edition of LOOP Fair transforms Barcelona's Hotel Almanac into a video art venue until November 23, 2023. The fair features 37 galleries and 43 artists, selected by a committee including collectors Jean-Conrad and Isabelle Lemaître, Josée and Marc Gensollen, Haro Cumbusyan, and Renée Drake. The Loop Barcelona Video Art Production Grant was awarded to South Korean artist Eunhee Lee, supported by the Han Nefkens Foundation in collaboration with the Miró Foundation. LOOP also includes a festival directed by Victoria Sacco, with a City Screen program involving organizations, curators, and artists across Barcelona. Co-founder Carlos Durán noted the project originated from gallerists aiming to bridge public institutions and the private market. The event comprises three sections: a fair, a festival, and a research program. Notable artists include Valentin Ranger, Thenjiwe Niki Nkosi, Delaine Le Bas, Fredj Moussa, and the collective Cabello-Carceller.
