London Visions at Les Abattoirs, Toulouse

festival-fair · 2026-04-23

The Marathon des mots literary festival in Toulouse featured London as guest of honor, with readings by Marianne Faithfull, Jane Birkin, and Nick Cohn. The exhibition "London Visions" at Les Abattoirs, curated by Yann Perreau and Alain Mousseigne, showcased London's art scene since the 1960s through films and videos. Works included London Filmmakers' Coop films, Roger K. Burton's music videos for Elvis Costello and Depeche Mode, and pieces by young video artists Emily Wardill, Helena Walsh, and Lucia Helenka. The International Necronautical Society, led by Tom McCarthy, explored human territorial limits. The Centre of Attention's Magazine Video n°4 featured performance footage from a now-defunct gallery. The festival ran June 13–17, 2007.
