London's Dog Show: Contemporary Art Curated by Canines
The Southwark Park Galleries in London has unveiled a group exhibition called 'Dog Show,' showcasing contemporary artworks chosen by dogs. The furry curators—Agnes, Ruby, Tess, Samson, Olive, and Spencer—are pets of curators, gallerists, and critics including Joyce Cronin, Karsten Schubert, Louisa Buck, Matthew Higgs, and Habda Rashid. Each piece features dog-related themes, with contributions from artists such as Krōōt Juurak & Alex Bailey, Martin Creed, and Lucian Freud, among others. This exhibition will be open until September 8, 2019. Other dog-centric shows include dOGUMENTA, initiated in 2017 at Brookfield Place, New York, and Human's Best Friend, a pop-up museum launched last year in New York's West Village.
