festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The London Design Festival returns for its 2017 edition from September 16 to 24, expanding to the Mayfair district for the first time. Over 400 events will take place across Clerkenwell, Brixton, Shoreditch, and Mayfair. Swiss furniture company Vitra will celebrate the Eames Plastic Chair (designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1950) with an installation in Clerkenwell. Designer Jack Trench will open his first permanent mono-brand showroom during the festival. The Landmark Project features Camille Walala's 'Villa Walala' at Broadgate, a colorful castle-like installation using digital printing. At the Victoria & Albert Museum, Ross Lovegrove presents 'Transmission,' a 25-meter-long Alcantara installation inspired by the Devonshire Hunting Tapestries. Designjunction, founded in 2011, will host around 200 international brands across six locations from September 21 to 24, including a project by Turner Prize-winning collective Assemble. 100% Design adopts the theme 'Elements' for its 2017 edition, divided into five sectors: Interiors, Workplace, Kitchens & Bathrooms, Design & Build, and Emerging Brands.
