Lomography Unveils Lomochrome Color '92 Sun-Kissed: A Warmer, Grainier Film
Lomography has introduced Lomochrome Color '92 Sun-Kissed, a new color negative film that builds on the original Color '92 released in 2023. The name '92 references the year Lomography was founded. The new film offers a warmer, more neutral palette compared to its predecessor, with improved shadow rendering and smoother grain, though it remains a grainy stock. It exhibits above-normal contrast and lower saturation, bearing some resemblance to Lomochrome Metropolis. The film performs well in golden hour light and with long exposures, but has below-average latitude, with shadows falling off quickly and overexposure leading to flatter, washed-out colors. Tested in 35mm and 110 formats, the 110 negatives were denser and overexposed, resulting in less punchy scans. The film is also available in medium format, where it looks even better with less noticeable grain. The review was conducted by Zeb Andrews, Annie Buckles, and Gabriel Binder, with images provided courtesy of Blue Moon Camera and Machine in Portland, OR. The film is on sale today only.
