Lombardy Museums See Summer Visitor Boom Exceeding 2019 Levels

A recent survey conducted by Osservatorio di Impresa Cultura Italia-Confcommercio and Swg revealed that the typical cultural expenditure during the summer in Italy reached €125. Year-on-year, attendance at museums, exhibitions, and archaeological sites rose by 14%, while cinema attendance increased by 13%, theater by 5%, live events by 7%, and cultural festivals by 6%. Lombardy was at the forefront of this recovery; in August 2022, over 5,000 people visited Milan's Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci, marking an 18% rise from 2019. On Ferragosto, 2,500 guests attended the Collezione Torlonia, while Palazzo Reale hosted over 3,000, and the Pinacoteca di Brera welcomed 8,000. Brescia saw nearly 17,000 museum visitors in August 2022, nearly a 70% increase from 2021.
