Logos Infinito: Diffuse Art Project in Recanati Explores the Word Through Contemporary Art
Curated by Gianluca Marziani at the behest of Recanati's culture assessor Rita Soccio, the diffuse project Logos Infinito investigates the visual and philosophical dimensions of language through contemporary art, inspired by Giacomo Leopardi's Operette morali without being didactic. Since late 2022, 15 works have been installed across the historic center, including at the Museo Civico di Villa Colloredo Mels, the Torre del Borgo, the main corso, and the deconsecrated church of San Pietrino near Leopardi's home. Artists include the collective Numero Cromatico, which uses AI to compose poems on love and endings; Matteo Attruia, who created a neon Welcome sign and mirrored walls multiplying obsessive phrases; Sveva Angeletti, exploring logos immersively with sound; musician Donato Dozzy with Anna Caragnano, recomposing Leopardi's L'infinito into an ambient soundscape; Sara Leghissa, whose project La scuola ha riaperto come dopo una nevicata involved students of Liceo Classico Leopardi in expressing pandemic-related experiences, now displayed as panels on museum windows, public posters, and video projections at San Pietrino; and Sardinian street artist Manu Invisible, who painted Presente on the museum facade and Infinito on the Torre del Borgo. Marziani aims to expand to about 50 interventions by 2024, supported by Sistema Museo and in dialogue with FAI to populate Casa Leopardi's gardens, courtyards, and cloisters. A documentary catalog will conclude the project.
