Lodi Baséll: First Edition of New Contemporary Art Festival in Lodi
The first edition of Lodi Baséll, a new contemporary art project, will take place in Lodi from September 29 to October 1, 2023. Organized by Platea | Palazzo Galeano, a 24-hour window space founded in 2021, with the patronage of the Municipality of Lodi, the festival aims to establish Lodi as a cultural hub and create a network of local contemporary art realities. The program includes multiple venues across the city. At Platea Project, Alberonero presents 'Caro Campo. Diario di lavoro,' an editorial project. Carlo Orsini's home-studio hosts 'PEBBLE IN THE SKY,' organized by Gian Marco Casini Gallery, featuring artists Clarissa Baldassarri, Juan Pablo Macías, Margherita Moscardini, Stefano Serretta, Renato Spagnoli, and Alessandro Manfrin, each presenting a personal object in a suitcase. Ceramist Tonino Negri opens his atelier at via Lodino 63 with the installation 'Ironici, Ieratici, Ceramici.' At La Cornice on Corso Adda, Marcello Chiarenza exhibits 'SCULTURE.' The Church of Santa Chiara Nuova hosts 'BORDA,' curated by Piergiorgio Caserini, Roberto Alfano, Luca Boffi, and Edoardo Carmi, produced by Associazione Arigine, featuring eight performances by Alberto Braida, Cult of Magic, DEM, Riccardo La Foresta, Lorenzo Lunghi, Marsala, and Sauzer. Spazio 21 presents 'INTERSECTION #2' with works by Paolo Maggis and Vanessa Pey. The festival is planned as an annual event for at least three years, with potential expansion beyond a weekend.
