festival-fair · 2026-05-04

The 12th edition of the Lo Schermo dell’arte Film Festival is set to take place in Florence from November 12 to 17, 2019. British artist Jeremy Deller, who won the Turner Prize in 2004, will showcase the Italian premiere of 'Putin’s Happy,' which delves into the influences of Brexit. Additionally, the project 'Lo scherzo dell’arte' by Roberto Fassone and Kasia Fudakowski will investigate the role of humor in modern art. Notable Italian premieres include Masbedo's 'Welcome Palermo' and Luca Vitone's 'Romanistan.' Other featured films are Alessandra Galletta's 'Ettore Spalletti (2018)' and Kim Longinotto's 'Shooting the mafia.' Applications for the VISIO European Programme, curated by Leonardo Bigazzi, are open until September 25. The festival's first ten years are chronicled in 'Lo schermo dell’arte. 10 anni tra arte contemporanea e cinema 2008-2018' (Giunti Editore, June 2019).
