artist · 2026-04-27

Liz Lamere, the partner of the late Alan Vega (1946-2016), is set to unveil previously unreleased materials from the Vega Vault archive in collaboration with Jared Artaud, the founder of The Vacant Lots. Vega, who co-founded the influential band Suicide, played a pivotal role in the realms of punk and electronic music. Rolling Stone recognized his debut album with Suicide as one of the 500 greatest albums. His solo career commenced in 1980 with Saturn, Strip, and he had major exhibitions of his work in 2002 and 2009. Vega's last album, IT, was released posthumously in 2017. In April 2021, Sacred Bones Records launched Mutator, featuring tracks recorded with Lamere. Lamere's first solo album, Keep It Alive, is expected in autumn 2021.
