Livia Fabiani's VenUs Urban Art Empowers Women Through Street Art
In 2022, architect Livia Fabiani established the VenUs association to advocate for female empowerment via urban art. Recognized as a Forbes Italia 2024 under-30 honoree in Art & Culture, she leads VenUs in organizing workshops, tours, murals, and discussions that emphasize gender equality, featuring speakers like economist Azzurra Rinaldi and Lorenzo Gasparrini. The association collaborates with female artists to produce murals that promote gender parity. Additionally, Fabiani opened FanfullArt, a guest house in Rome hosting a diffused exhibition until December 2024, showcasing works by eight Italian artists, including Alessandra Carloni and JBROCK. Each room honors a historical female traveler, with critical commentary by Carlotta Vacchelli. Supported by Regione Lazio and in partnership with Toponomastica Femminile, the project also includes a collaboration with Brazilian NGO Rede Nami, founded by Panmela Castro, to screen the documentary "Graffiti para acabar com a violência doméstica" in Italy, funded by Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena. Looking ahead, VenUs will participate in the Nubivago exhibition at Palazzo Brancaccio on July 3-4, organized by Veronica Campisano, which will address sex-affective education in schools. Through art, VenUs strives to challenge stereotypes and promote a more just society.
