Live Cinema Festival returns to Rome with synesthetic performances

The Live Cinema Festival's seventh iteration will be held in Rome from October 9 to 16, 2020, at Casa dell'Architettura / Acquario Romano for the first time. Directed by Claudio Guerrieri, this festival emphasizes the simultaneous creation of sound and visuals, merging audio, video, and live performance. Attendees can expect world premieres, new productions, and national previews. The Sala Ellittica features a curved projection measuring 20x5 meters. Opening night showcases include Marco Monfardini's 'Detect,' which investigates inaudible sounds via electromagnetic fields, alongside Dutch visual music artist Tarik Barri. Additional international participants include Aid Kid & Pavel Karafiàt, Amelie Duchow, and others. A symposium titled 'What is synesthesia?' will precede each performance, and a video installation, 'Machine for Living,' by Canadian artist Sabrina Rattè, will be displayed. The festival introduces a 'Live Cinema Made in Italy' segment featuring local artists from October 11-14, along with two workshops by the Algo:Ritmi association, focusing on the metaverse and 3D modeling.
