Liu Bolin and Annie Leibovitz create Moncler's FW17 campaign in Iceland

Moncler's Autumn-Winter 2017/2018 campaign features the collaborative work of Chinese artist Liu Bolin and American photographer Annie Leibovitz, shot in Iceland's glacial landscapes. Bolin, known for his camouflaged self-portraits, merges with icebergs and frozen waters through body painting, captured by Leibovitz's lens. The duo previously worked together on Moncler's Spring-Summer 2017 campaign set in New York. Bolin's practice, rooted in political commentary on modern society and migration (as seen in his 2015 project 'Migrants' with refugees in Mineo, Sicily), is here stripped of its political message, retaining only its aesthetic appeal for fashion. The campaign presents a surreal, fantastical imagery where Bolin's body blends into the Icelandic environment in shades of gray, lead, anthracite, and blue.
