Literary Series 'Imperdíveis' Returns with Three Books on Art and Society

The literary series 'Imperdíveis' has returned to ARTE!Brasileiros, recommending three books for reflection on the relationships between art and society. The titles explore themes traditionally read by anthropology regarding art as individual and collective, examining the image-public-artist relationship through the work of Farías and investigating 'the forms of love, their political interferences, the possibility of being together and separate,' as cited by Dunker. The first book is by Christian Dunker, published by Editora Ubu, spanning 320 pages. Dunker is a full professor in Psychoanalysis and Clinical Psychopathology at the Institute of Psychology at USP, with 26 years of clinical practice and reflection, and a columnist for 'Carteiro do Inconsciente.' The second book is by Alfred Gell, also from Editora Ubu, with 296 pages. Gell was a British archaeologist and social anthropologist who taught at the University of Sussex and conducted fieldwork with the Umeda people in New Guinea and the Muria in India. The third book is organized by Adolfo Montejo Navas, published by Editora Iluminuras, comprising 351 pages. Montejo Navas, born in Madrid in 1954, is a visual artist and author of several books, currently collaborating with cultural publications in Spain and Brazil.
