Listude's Forest HQ in Yamanashi Blends Concert Hall, Workshop, and Home

Japanese speaker brand Listude has moved to a new multifunctional headquarters in Hokuto, Yamanashi, designed by Hitotomori Architects. The roughly 1,000 sq m plot, chosen in 2022, features a concert hall, outdoor stage, listening room, production workshop, and living quarters. Owner and designer Manpei Tsurubayashi, along with his wife Anna Hasegawa, relocated from Nara to foster a community of musicians and artists. The building includes a double-height concert hall open to the forest, with six Scenery speakers hanging from the ceiling and custom sound panels made by Tsurubayashi. Acoustic specialist Hiroshi Suzuki was hired to reduce electromagnetic noise with separate circuits. The brand, founded in 2007 as Sonihouse, was renamed Listude in 2021. Tsurubayashi has delivered speakers to musicians like Yuni Mori and Gen Tanabe, and local businesses. The new site includes an outdoor stage using the natural slope, and the family lives on the premises. The project took three years to plan and build, with the company moving in 2025.
