Lisson Gallery Announces Chelsea Expansion with New York Space Designed Around High Line

institutional · 2026-04-20

Lisson Gallery will establish a New York presence in Chelsea with a purpose-built gallery spanning from 24th to 23rd Street. The program will feature the gallery's roster of 46 artists and estates, many without current US representation. Alex Logsdail will direct the space, supported by US directors Jeannie Freilich and Angela Brazda, who have worked from Lisson's existing Eldridge Street offices. Architects Christian Wassmann and Markus Dochantschi collaborated on the design of the new building, which incorporates the foundations of the High Line park. The 1.45-mile elevated park serves as a structural element for the construction.
