Lisa Roy's Cruise Ship Interiors and Israeli Photography at Passage de Retz
American photographer Lisa Roy is showcasing her debut exhibition in France at galerie g-module from October 23 to December 20, 2003. The exhibition highlights the interior architecture of American cruise ships through her hyper-saturated photographs, which utilize fluorescent colors to challenge perceptions of unattractive spaces, drawing inspiration from Hollywood films and the Titanic phenomenon. Simultaneously, the group exhibition "Là : ici et ailleurs," curated by Yona Fischer, is running at Passage de Retz from November 13 to December 7, 2003. This show features four photographers: Israelis Aïm Deüelle Lüski and Barry Frydlender, Hanna Sahar, and French artist Anne-Marie Filaire. Lüski crafts primitive cameras for composite images, while Frydlender merges contemporary crowds with historical trauma in his digitally constructed panoramas, creating a dialogue between beauty and tragedy.
