Lis10 Gallery Opens Paris Outpost with Laetitia Ky Show

Lis10 Gallery, based in Arezzo, Italy, has opened a new location in Paris at 18 Rue de Crussol in the 11th arrondissement, near Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine and the Marais district. Director Nicola Furini cited Paris's historical-artistic tradition, multicultural character, and post-Brexit cultural-political context as motivations. The space aims to function as a cultural and laboratory hub, not just an exhibition venue. Its inaugural show, "Who’s that woman / Qui est cette femme?" by Ivorian artist-activist Laetitia Ky (born 1996), opens in May 2023 and runs through June 24, 2023. Ky's photographic works use her hair as a non-verbal medium to advocate for women's rights, often styled with mud. Her paintings employ a subtractive language focusing on archetypes and stereotypes. The artist recently represented Côte d'Ivoire at the 59th Venice Biennale, has shown at Fondazione Made in Cloister in Naples and Tate Modern in London, and has upcoming exhibitions at Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Caen, and the 2023 edition of Una boccata d'arte.
