Liquida Photofestival 2024: Third Edition Opens in Turin with Theme 'Rebirth'

The third edition of Liquida Photofestival, born from the Paratissima fair, opens at the Complesso della Cavallerizza in Turin from May 1 to 5, 2024, under the theme 'Rebirth.' Artistic director Laura Tota explains the theme as a continuation of last year's 'Better Days Will Come,' focusing on inner and social healing. The festival features 29 international photographers, including Paola Francesca Barone, Luca Daddario, Carlodemarchis, Gloria Fenaroli, Ottavia Franchina, and Filippo Zanella. Austrian photographer Peter Pflügler presents 'Now Is Not The Right Time' as the Liquida Grant winner, with an installation designed through a workshop led by Andrea Isola Exhibition Designer involving 11 students. The program includes editorial content, meetings, free portfolio readings curated by Vittoria Fragapane of Artphilein publishing house, and presentations of independent photobooks. Returning artists include Ada Marino with 'New Moons' produced by Artphilein Foundation, Gian Marco Sanna with 'Paradise' published by the Swiss house, and Veronica Barbato's 'Tua Sorella' in the ediTable. Tota highlights Turin's fertile photography scene with institutions like Camera and Gallerie D'Italia, the fair The Phair, and the new EXPOSED Torino Foto Festival, positioning Liquida as a platform for emerging independent photographers.
