Liquida Palermo Studio Residency: Open Call for Photographers and Visual Artists

other · 2026-05-05

Liquida – Palermo Studio Residency, a program founded and co-curated by BACO and Minimum, has launched an open call for photographers and visual artists. The residency runs from April 27 to May 25, 2018, in Palermo, Italy, just before the opening of Manifesta, the itinerant contemporary art biennial, on June 16. The initiative aims to rediscover Mediterranean culture through photography, exploring the meaning of living in Sicily as a "Terra di mezzo" in the heart of the Mediterranean. Selected artist receives a desk at Minimum studio, free access to library, Wi-Fi, projector, and laser printer, plus €500 for travel, accommodation, and research. Organizers cover production of a final exhibition at Minimum, plus two public presentations: one at Ballarak in Palermo and another at Farm Cultural Park in Favara. Deadline for applications is April 2, 2018. No age or nationality restrictions. Pre-selected artists will be notified by March 29; winner announced on Liquida Residency website by April 2.
