LINFA Exhibition at Museo Archeologico Nazionale della Sibaritide Explores Olive Oil's Millennial Mediterranean Legacy
The "LINFA: essenze dalla terra" exhibition at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale della Sibaritide, set to launch on June 14, explores the significance of olive oil in Mediterranean culture. It comprises seven sections and six thematic areas, detailing the journey of olive oil from Protohistory to modern times. Organized by Parchi Archeologici di Crotone e Sibari and Azienda Regionale per lo Sviluppo dell'Agricoltura Calabrese, the display includes unique artifacts, such as a Panathenaic amphora from Metaponto. Highlighting olive oil's culinary, health, and ritualistic applications, Director Filippo Demma notes the integration of archaeology with contemporary stories. Digital tools improve accessibility, and the live program features cooking, tastings, and workshops. Additionally, the museum collaborates with Impresa Sociale Catasta and Consorzio Aion to produce and sell oil.
