Linea Festival 2020 Postponed to August, Extended Through Fall Due to COVID-19
The second edition of LINEA Festival, southern Italy's reference event for art and technology, originally scheduled for spring 2020 in Ruvo di Puglia, has been postponed to late August due to COVID-19 and extended over several months until November. The festival, produced by the Apulia Center for Art and Technology (founded in 2018), will feature concerts, public art, workshops, exhibitions, and talks. Its headquarters remain in Ruvo di Puglia, within the Alta Murgia National Park, with activities spreading across the region. A preview takes place August 21-23 at the Fondazione Museo Pino Pascali in Polignano a Mare, with talks by Rosalba Branà (director of the foundation), Giuseppe Teofilo (artist and president), Giuseppe Magrone (artistic director), KUKA (automation company), new media artist Leandro Summo, Giulio Alvigini (founder of Make Italian Art Great Again), and Andrea Concas (art expert). Santa Nastro moderates. A solo exhibition by Valeria Secchi, curated by Laura Tota, is installed in Ruvo di Puglia's historic center until August 31. Artistic director Giuseppe Magrone stated that the pandemic prompted a rethinking of production, turning the crisis into a creative drive, and that the festival's flexible format suits its experience working with institutions not yet fully ready for contemporary language.
