Lina Lapelytė's Sonic Witchcraft Featured in Paris Festival d'Automne
Lithuanian sound artist Lina Lapelytė will showcase several pieces in Paris as part of the Festival d'Automne 2024, which aligns with the Saison de la Lituanie en France. From October 22-24, 2024, she will perform 'Have a good day!' alongside Vaiva Grainytė and Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė at Théâtre du Rond-Point. This anti-capitalist 'poor opera' features ten cashiers and examines automated work settings. Lapelytė rose to fame after 'Sun & Sea' received the Golden Lion at the 2019 Venice Biennale. She is an alumna of London's Royal College and incorporates elements of Lithuania's pagan traditions. Additionally, her work 'The Mutes' (now called 'Study of Slope') is on display at Lyon's Biennale until January 5, 2025. In September 2024, she unveiled 'The Speech' at the Bourse de Commerce.
