Lina Ghotmeh Expands Mathaf Museum, Lee Bul Wins Abu Dhabi Award, Natasha Tontey for Venice Biennale, Antenna Space HK

On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha revealed that Lebanese architect Lina Ghotmeh will spearhead a multi-phase expansion project. The initial phase will involve redesigning the ground floor to include a library, a larger gift shop, and a new café. Subsequent phases are set to introduce studios dedicated to ceramics, glass, woodworking, and sound. According to Director Zeina Arida, the goal of the expansion is to create residency studios and workshops. Ghotmeh is also working on the Jadids' Legacy Museum in Bukhara and Qatar's pavilion for the Venice Biennale. Additionally, Korean artist Lee Bul was awarded the Abu Dhabi Festival Award on December 17, 2025, and Indonesian artist Natasha Tontey will showcase a multimedia installation at the 61st Venice Biennale, commencing on May 9. In March 2026, Antenna Space will launch a branch in Hong Kong, while the Diriyah Biennale Foundation announced the 2026 Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale, set to open on January 30, featuring over 65 artists.
