Limusina: Former Parking Garage Becomes Glamorous Mexican Eatery in NYC

Quality Branded, the company behind Quality Bistro, Zou Zou’s, and Twin Tails, has launched Limusina, a 215-seat Mexican eatery located at the intersection of 34th Street and Ninth Avenue in New York City. The design, crafted by GRT Architects, retains elements of the old parking garage, such as exposed concrete columns and split-level areas, while incorporating warm marble, blown glass, custom lighting, and textured finishes in shades of peach, amber, and pale violet. The ambiance reflects the glamour and grit of late-1970s and early-1980s New York. Executive Chef and Partner Craig Koketsu offers a fresh take on Mexican cuisine, influenced by Cal-Mex and Tex-Mex, featuring dishes like oversized machetes with black truffle and guava jam, Solteros nachos, and Lobster al Pastor. Desserts include Jelly Donut Conchas and Sweet Corn Ice Cream Sundae. Michael Stillman emphasized the restaurant's aim to present an authentic perspective on Mexican food, while Rustam Mehta pointed out the preservation of unique site features, including hand-painted motifs and custom lighting. A secret mezcal vault is also part of the establishment.
