Liminal Space launches Artbnb residency and Install workshop in Rome
Liminal Space, a Rome exhibition space dedicated to digital art founded by Gregorio Comandini and Saverio Villirillo in June 2024, is launching two new programs in September 2025: Artbnb, a residency where artists pay with an artwork instead of money, and Install, a paid intensive workshop from September 17–20, 2025. Artbnb invites non-Rome-based artists for a one-week stay, leaving a work (audio, painting, or text) that becomes part of an archive displayed in a dedicated space within Liminal Space. Install, curated by Comandini and Villirillo, provides theoretical, technical, and project-based skills for integrating new media into artistic research, featuring portfolio reviews with guest lecturers including Valentina Tanni, Daniela Cotimbo, Silvia Dal Dosso, Filippo Gualazzi, and Cristian Rizzuti. The workshop culminates in a group exhibition open from September 13–20, 2025. Additionally, Liminal Space offers a website section collecting new media festivals and institutions, plus a database of code and software to support digital art practitioners.
