Liliana Moro on Her Career, Documenta, and the Upcoming Italian Pavilion

In a conversation with Artribune, Italian artist Liliana Moro reflects on her artistic journey since the 1990s, highlighting her involvement in Documenta 9 and the Venice Biennale, as well as her contribution to the 2019 Italian Pavilion under Milovan Farronato's curation. She reminisces about launching the Via Lazzaro Palazzi exhibition space in Milan in 1988 and curating "Politica per del o riguardante il cittadino" in Novi Ligure. Under the mentorship of Luciano Fabro at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, she recalls her experience at Documenta 9 in 1992, where she had to abandon her project "Tira molla" due to safety issues. Moro also took part in "Aperto 93" at the Venice Biennale and shares insights about her relationship with gallerist Emi Fontana and the obstacles encountered by her contemporaries in the Italian art scene.
