Light Lens Lab Announces 35mm f/2 Apochromatic, First High Performance Series Lens
Light Lens Lab has introduced its 35mm f/2 'Apochromatic' lens, marking the inaugural product in its High Performance Series and High-Performance Optical Research Project. This lens comprises 11 elements arranged in six groups, incorporating four aspherical elements and ultra-low-dispersion glass for superior chromatic-aberration correction. Additionally, a multilayer coating reduces flare and fringing, while the 11-bladed aperture enhances performance. Designed for manual focus, the Leica M-Mount lens can focus from 0.3 meters to infinity and is available in two barrel styles: smooth and close-focus knurling, with the smooth version being released first. Weighing around 327 grams for aluminum (Black Paint or Silver Chrome) and 360 grams for the limited-edition Titanium Gray, preorders begin on August 10, with shipments set for September 30. Pricing is $2,049 for aluminum and $2,349 for Titanium Gray. A 50mm lens is anticipated for 2027.
