Ligèra Group Show at Milan's Scalo Lambrate

Seven artists have transformed Milan's Scalo Lambrate, a grimy former railway yard, into an exhibition space for the group show 'Ligèra.' The term evokes a bohemian, roguish spirit, and the show defies conventional curatorial logic through collective trust and camaraderie. Works by Marco Bongiorni focus on tears painted on used, walked-on supports. Angelo Sarleti's large asterisks respond in painterly language, alluding to a rarefied, mental reality where abstraction becomes personal heraldry, a window onto current events, or a statistical graph. Dario Pecoraro's paintings, starting from animalier mimesis, emphasize the energy spectrum of images rather than zoological features. Mirko Smerdel dematerializes painting into a fragile film that erodes photographic data, turning housing blocks into shadow architectures. Marco Trinca Colonel uses a sophisticated 3D printing method to manipulate images across multiple planes, evoking Seurat or Signac. Alberto Bettinetti presents a 'bachelor machine' that creates circles in water in a steel container. Ettore Favini offers a plastic tub showing a domestic yet alarming shipwreck.
