LIFEWTR Fund and Sculpture Prize at Frieze New York 2019

At Frieze New York 2019, LIFEWTR, a purified water brand, launched several initiatives supporting emerging artists. The LIFEWTR Fund, established in 2017, facilitates acquisitions for the Brooklyn Museum. This year, the fund acquired 'when no softness came' (2019) by Diedrick Brackens (Texas, 1989) and '13 International Dogs' by Gala Porras-Kim (Bogotá, Colombia, 1984). Olga Osminkina-Jones, Vice President of Hydration & Innovation at Global Beverages, stated the fund's goal of supporting creativity globally. Anne Pasternak, director of the Brooklyn Museum, commented on the 2018 acquisition of Ed Clark's 'Untitled'. Additionally, the Frieze LIFEWTR Sculpture Prize offers an emerging artist the opportunity to create and exhibit a monumental sculpture at the 2020 edition of Frieze Sculpture New York, curated by Brett Littman at Rockefeller Center. The open call runs until July 1, 2019, and is open to artists worldwide. Loring Randolph, artistic director of Frieze, expressed gratitude for the platform supporting young artists. LIFEWTR also presented 'Art through Technology' with works by Andrew Benson, Zach Lieberman, and Sara Ludy, inspired by natural and digital imagery.
