Liebieghaus to Reconstruct Parthenon East Pediment in 2026 Exhibition

Starting on November 18, 2026, the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung in Frankfurt is set to present a major exhibition centered on the Parthenon’s pediment sculptures from Athens’ Acropolis. Called "Athena, the Stage is Yours: The Parthenon Puzzle," this showcase will reveal groundbreaking research spearheaded by Vinzenz Brinkmann, who leads the department of antiquities there. His team has used innovative methods to create what is believed to be the first archaeologically precise reconstruction of the east pediment sculptures, uncovering astonishing insights. The exhibition will also include significant loans from esteemed institutions, including the British Museum and the Acropolis Museum. The Parthenon is widely recognized as the pinnacle of ancient Greek architecture and artistry.
