Lidó Rico's 'L'anima non finita' Opens at Sala Alcalá 31

Sala Alcalá 31 in Madrid has inaugurated 'L'anima non finita', a major exhibition dedicated to contemporary artist Lidó Rico, featuring over fifty works spanning nearly four decades. Curated by Míriam Huescar, the show explores Rico's unique artistic language centered on the body as matter, trace, and space for thought. The exhibition is structured as a cartography of his creative universe, connecting early investigations in drawing, wax, and metal with recent developments in dialogue with architecture. It unfolds on two levels: the main floor presents thematic nuclei with large-scale installations 'Secadero de pensamientos'—a suspended multitude of heads symbolizing thought and memory—and 'Murcia, piel y memoria', an extensive sculptural mural on identity and representation. The upper floor offers a more intimate experience with smaller works addressing self-representation and introspection. Rico's methodology involves direct immersion of the body in plaster, transforming physical imprint into artistic material. His work is held in collections including Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno, and ARTIUM. The exhibition runs from May 8 to May 31, 2026.
