Libreria Tlon takes over bookshop at Villa Medici in Rome

The bookshop of the French Academy in Rome, Villa Medici, has been renovated in collaboration with Libreria Tlon, a Roman publishing house. The new space features sky-blue perforated grids framing the entrance hall. Tlon will curate and select titles to promote the academy's cultural heritage while highlighting niche editorial and artisanal realities. The installation integrates seamlessly into the villa, becoming part of the exhibition route for the show "Orient – Express & Cie. Itinerario di un mito moderno." Tlon was founded by Andrea Colamedici and Maura Gancitano, who previously established a philosophy school as a hub for cultural exchange. They have collaborated with other museum bookshops, including that of the Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome. Tlon has also published exhibition catalogues such as "Ultraqueer. Espressioni artistiche metagender" at Palazzo Merulana and "Time Is Out Of Joint" at the Galleria Nazionale di Roma, curated by Cristiana Collu, as well as Naomi Wolf's "Mito della bellezza."
