Library of Congress opens experiential gallery for young researchers
On May 9, the Library of Congress will unveil The Source: Where Curiosity Sparks Discovery, an innovative research gallery designed for children and teens aged 8 to 15. Situated on the ground level of the Jefferson Building, this 4,000-square-foot space transforms the way young individuals engage with history by allowing them to interact with the Library’s primary sources. The gallery features various interactive stations showcasing hundreds of items in text, image, sound, and film formats, fostering critical thinking, media literacy, curiosity, and creativity. After seven years of development, The Source represents a vital element of the Library's ongoing initiative to establish new educational environments.
