Liberato's Synesthetic Concert at Piazza del Plebiscito: A Multisensory Spectacle

Liberato's three-day concert at Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples (September 16–18, 2023) was a synesthetic show designed to engage all five senses. The stage measured 50×25 meters with 300 square meters of screens and projection surfaces, featuring flamethrowers, fireworks, and a sound system at the legal limit. Over 70,000 people attended the word-of-mouth event. The performance opened with sirens, a looped sound of 'Guagliò', and black-and-white projections with strobe effects, inducing a trance-like state. Lighting design by Martino Cerati and Quiet Ensamble alternated geometric shapes and 3D forms, with the artist appearing and disappearing through front projection and backlighting. Liberato performed at a height of at least 8 meters, adopting a lateral fencing-like posture, dressed as a futuristic samurai.
