Liberato releases debut album and video series Capri Rendez-Vous

The anonymous Italian music phenomenon Liberato has released his first album, titled 'Liberato', featuring eleven tracks that blend neomelodic Neapolitan tradition with contemporary sounds. The album cover displays his signature rose. Accompanying the album is a five-episode video series titled 'Capri Rendez-Vous', directed by Francesco Lettieri, who has directed all of Liberato's videos. The series stars Jessica Cressy as Marie and Elvis Esposito as Carmine, telling a love story spanning five decades on the island of Capri. Lettieri explained on Facebook that the series employs jump cuts as a reference to the French New Wave and includes long dialogues about cinema and time. He defended the album against criticism that it is merely a marketing product, calling it 'experimental disguised as pop' and praising its technique, talent, courage, and sincerity. Liberato first emerged in 2017 with the song '9 Maggio' and has since become a major musical force in Italy.
