Liberato and Quiet Ensemble at Club To Club: Anonymity Through Light

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

At Club To Club in Turin, the mysterious Italian singer Liberato performed three songs on November 4, 2017, but did not reveal his identity. The performance was shaped by ANTILIGHT, a light installation by the artistic duo Quiet Ensemble (Fabio Di Salvo and Bernardo Vercelli), which used aerial projections and darkness to amplify Liberato's anonymity. Liberato, often called 'the Elena Ferrante of music,' became a phenomenon in 2016 by posting three Neapolitan-language songs on YouTube that garnered millions of views. Quiet Ensemble, founded in 2009, also presented Orienta-memorie di 11 formiche at The Others fair in Turin, supported by CRAC – Centro di ricerca per le arti contemporanee. This installation, started in 2012, uses the visual and sonic traces of eleven ants to redefine the gallery space.
