Lia Pasqualino's 100 Portraits of Artists at Capodimonte

exhibition · 2026-04-27

The Museo di Capodimonte in Naples hosts an exhibition of 100 portraits by photographer Lia Pasqualino, curated by Giovanna Calvenzi. The show runs from June 13 to July 11, 2021, as part of the Campania Teatro Festival. Pasqualino, born in Palermo into an artistic family, began photography in 1986 after a course with Letizia Battaglia. Her subjects include artists, writers, directors, actors, and ordinary people, capturing moments of intense everyday life. She lives in Rome with her husband, film director Roberto Andò. The exhibition spans from the mid-1980s to the present, featuring reportage and on-set shots. Battaglia recalls Pasqualino's discreet approach and her distinctive images of Palermo's landscapes and silent places.
