Lex Pott designs portable PS2026 lamp for IKEA's 10th PS Collection

architecture-design · 2026-04-20

Dutch designer Lex Pott created the PS2026 Portable Lamp for IKEA's 35-piece PS Collection, unveiled today. The rechargeable lamp, described as a "playful companion," is one of four Pott designs for the collection, alongside a transforming lamp shown at Milan design week. Pott prototyped the lamp by assembling objects in his studio—a petri dish, laboratory glass, and a Christmas ball—resulting in three geometric shapes: a powder-coated metal cylinder, a plastic base, and a blown colored glass sphere. The lamp retails for £19 and comes in red, blue, and green. Pott emphasized its "unpretentious" and "universal" character, avoiding materials like brass that make lamps "pretentious." The full PS Collection, including an inflatable chair, launches today.
