Leslie Wexner's Philanthropy and Art Collection Through the Wexner Center for the Arts

In 1984, Leslie Wexner, the wealthiest person in Ohio and the founder of Limited Brands, established the Wexner Foundation. Five years later, he and his spouse Abigail inaugurated the Wexner Center for the Arts, which serves as both a contemporary gallery and a research facility. In 1999, Wexner purchased Picasso's 1932 artwork Nude on a Black Armchair for $42.1 million and later donated it to the Center.
