Lesia Vasylchenko Wins 2025 Pinchuk Art Centre Prize
Lesia Vasylchenko has been awarded the prestigious 2025 Pinchuk Art Centre Prize, which honors Ukrainian artists aged 35 and under. She will receive ₴400,000 and will be automatically considered for the upcoming Future Generation Art Prize. The jury commended her work for its impressive physicality and poetic nature, describing it as an elegant exploration of the Ukrainian sky—a symbol representing longing, trauma, and hope. Kateryna Aliinyk secured the first special prize, while Yevhen Korshunov was awarded both the second special prize and the public prize, each receiving ₴100,000 along with support for internships or educational opportunities. A special recognition was also awarded posthumously to Veronika Kozhushko, an 18-year-old artist who tragically lost her life in a Russian missile strike in 2024. The exhibition featuring works from 20 shortlisted artists is on display at the Pinchuk Art Centre in Kyiv until 13 July.
