Les yeux qui louchent: five artists explore the artist's gaze at Galleria Alberta Pane

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Galleria Alberta Pane in Venice presents "Les yeux qui louchent," a group exhibition curated by Daniele Capra that opened in May 2017. The show features five artists from diverse backgrounds, each probing the nature of the artistic gaze. Igor Eškinja overlays Louvre visitors' fingerprints onto cultural heritage. Manuela Sedmach creates emotional landscapes in grayscale. Fritz Panzer uses dark metal wires to form sculptures that play with fullness and emptiness. Michele Spanghero employs translucent supports to highlight image peculiarities. João Vilhena's black-and-white drawings depict observer and observed at a window, a timeless voyeuristic emblem.
