Leonor Fini works to be auctioned at Millon in Paris on March 25

Millon Auction Group will auction a selection of works by Leonor Fini in Paris on March 25, 2025, as part of a Modern Art session featuring about 200 lots. The sale includes oils, watercolors, and works on paper, with top lots such as Portrait féminin (1941, estimate €50,000-60,000), L'Orientale (estimate €28,000-30,000), Passager (1989, estimate €30,000-32,000), and Le Sphinx rose (1981, estimate €5,000-7,000). The auction coincides with the ongoing retrospective “Io sono LEONOR FINI” at Palazzo Reale in Milan, highlighting renewed critical and market interest in the Italo-Argentine artist. Fini, who died in Paris in 1996, had strong ties to both Milan and Paris, having moved to Paris in the 1930s and connected with surrealists like Max Ernst and Paul Eluard, while also engaging with Achille Funi and Giorgio de Chirico in Milan. The Paris auction follows a 2022 sale of her works at Il Ponte Casa d'Aste dedicated to Valentina Cortese.
