Leonardo da Vinci's portraits explored in first major Dutch exhibition
The Teylers Museum in Haarlem, Netherlands, presents a groundbreaking exhibition focusing on Leonardo da Vinci's portraiture and his anatomical studies of facial expressions. Opening ahead of the 500th anniversary of the artist's death, the show features over thirty drawings, including three preparatory studies for the apostles in The Last Supper at Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan and the study for the Madonna in the Grotto from the Royal Library of Turin. Loans come from the Uffizi in Florence, the Louvre, and the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle. The exhibition runs until January 6, 2019.
